SERVICE ORDER COORDINATOR

Columbia Power & Water Systems (CPWS) is a public utility proudly serving the citizens of Columbia and Maury County Tennessee since 1939. CPWS has an open Service Order Coordinator position.  The Service Order Coordinator is responsible for dispatching operational employees for collection, routine service orders, normal maintenance to utility systems and related equipment. This position is the central communication link between operational employees and customer requests.  This position requires someone who is highly detail oriented, who likes working with numbers, and enjoys working independently most of the day without direct customer interaction.
 
The primary duties & responsibilities of this position include: 

  • Responsible for accurately monitoring, routing, and closing service orders and reporting of activities. As part of the process, this position will verify rates, connect fees, deposits, tax codes & cycles; and apply available deposits when closing disconnect orders.
  • Prepare, monitor, and implement the daily disconnect process to include remote disconnect meters and ensure accurate information and data is given to operational employees prior to customer disconnect.
  • Review Meter Changes for accuracy.
  • Update customer records with readings and pertinent information.
  • Research high bills to determine cause or dispatch field techs as needed. 
  • Responsible for dispatching operational employees when needed.
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to occasionally lift 0 – 10 pounds 
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for 2 hours at a time
  • Ability to talk, see, hear, reach, handle, and feel
  • Ability to use eyes, hands, and fingers to operate computer keyboard quickly and accurately
 
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years of previous customer service experience preferred
  • Must be highly proficient in Excel/Word/Outlook with ability to manipulate and ensure data accuracy in those programs
  • Experience working with and in customer information systems (CIS) with a utility and customer utility accounts preferred.
  • Experience with NISC or similar software platforms preferred
