[COLUMBIA, TN] – Towne Coffee & Cuisine Announces Exciting New Chapter
What started as a cozy coffee shop dream during the height of COVID has grown into something much bigger — and
much more delicious. Towne Coffee & Cuisine is officially re-branding as Towne Café.
Founded by local owners David and Betsy Wood, Towne began with a simple vision inspired by a memorable weekend
getaway to Mount Pleasant, Tennessee: create a warm, welcoming place where people could gather over exceptional
coffee and incredible food.
For Chef David Wood — a culinary professional with more than 35 years of experience in the food industry and formal
culinary training — opening his own establishment had always been the dream. The name “Towne” itself pays tribute to
Towne Deli, where David first began his career in food service.
As the business grew, so did the menu. After relocating to Columbia, Tennessee, the Woods expanded beyond
handcrafted coffee drinks to include a wide variety of fresh, homemade breakfast and lunch offerings with a gourmet
twist — prompting the addition of “Cuisine” to the business name.
But customers kept saying the same thing: “Wait… this is a restaurant, too?”
And they were right.
Today, food represents nearly 85% of Towne’s menu and business, with guests returning again and again for
made-to-order breakfasts, fresh lunches, baked goods, and chef-inspired specials. The response has been overwhelming,
and the Woods realized it was time for the brand to fully reflect what Towne has become.
Welcome to Towne Café.
While the new name embraces Towne’s growing identity as a restaurant, guests can still expect all the coffee favorites
they know and love — including cold brews, pour-overs, lattes, and blended coffee drinks.
But that’s only the beginning. Towne Café will also introduce:

Expanded seating and gathering spaces
Increased catering offerings
More events, community experiences, and exciting additions to come
“Our heart has always been about creating a place where people feel at home,” say David and Betsy Wood. “Towne Café
reflects who we are today — a chef-driven café experience built around great food, amazing coffee, and community.”
About David & Betsy Wood:
David and Betsy’s story began in kindergarten at Franklin School in Summit, New Jersey. Though life took them in
different directions after high school — David spending 13 years living in Ireland and Betsy building a successful career
across New York, London, Los Angeles, and Paris — fate reunited the lifelong friends 25 years later.
Now married and living in Franklin, Tennessee, the couple have combined their talents to build Towne Café into a beloved
local destination.
Chef David Wood brings more than three decades of culinary expertise and professional culinary training to every dish
served at Towne Café, with his chef-driven menu consistently earning five-star reviews from customers. Betsy — a
Designer and Creative Director with more than 30 years of experience in brand identity and product development — has
shaped the vision and personality behind the brand, from interiors and menus to marketing and events.
Together, Towne Café is the perfect blend of their passions: hospitality, creativity, food, coffee, and community.
