Columbia Power & Water Systems (CPWS) is a public utility proudly serving the citizens of Columbia and Maury County Tennessee since 1939. CPWS is hiring a Quality Assurance Analyst. The Quality Assurance Analyst will assist the Director of Customer Service by working in conjunction with the Customer Service, Billing, CIS, and Finance departments, as well as the operational units, to ensure accounts receivable data is accurately entered and maintained. This position requires someone who is highly detail oriented, who likes working with numbers, and enjoys working independently most of the day without direct customer interaction.
The primary duties & responsibilities of this position include:
- Maintain a good working knowledge of how the customer service and billing department accounts receivable information transitions into the Finance Department.
- Perform regular reviews and updates of tax structures and utility billing rate tables.
- Ensure accuracy for all accounts receivable items entered through utility billing.
- Perform regular checks on deposits and miscellaneous charges.
- Assist with troubleshooting any accounts receivable items in relation to customer service, billing, finance, or operational units.
- Maintains reconciliations between billing data and TVA records and reports.
- Balances statistical reports to financial records by maintaining charge codes.
- Monitor the system’s overall accounts receivable and uncollectible balances through reports and analysis.
- Work cohesively with all CPWS Departments to maintain readily accessible data point files pertaining to all accounts receivable items.
- Receives direction and coordinates work processes with the Director of Customer Service.
- Maintain exceptional level of accuracy related to all duties and responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally lift 0 – 10 pounds
- Ability to sit at a desk for up to 2 hours at a time, up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to use eyes, hands, and fingers to operate computer keyboard quickly and accurately
- Ability to talk, see, hear, reach, handle, and feel
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2–3 years in AR, utility billing, or related finance roles required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with billing systems required
- Experience in auditing, quality assurance, or process improvement preferred
- Experience in the utility industry preferred
