Volunteer Coordinator

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR // JOB SUMMARY

Reports to: Assistant Director
Employment Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Hourly Rate: $17-$19

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with all areas of the organization to identify available opportunities and needs for volunteers.

  • Schedules, coordinates, and assigns volunteers to appropriate areas, supervisors, and/or mentors.

  • Communication of opportunities to volunteers through email and text.

  • Collect stories for marketing.

  • Create volunteer surveys for feedback.

  • Onboard new volunteers.

  • Gathers information about each volunteer’s skills, availability, and goals; matches volunteers with appropriate opportunities based on this data.

  • Develop relationships with volunteers.

  • Coordinates the planning and implementation of volunteer recognition, appreciation, training, and information events and activities on ongoing basis.

  • Do volunteer appreciation gifts and recognition

  • Communicate to churches number of volunteer hours by their members each quarter.

  • Communicate volunteer opportunities to churches and business partners 3-6 months in advance.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • Communicates with all departments of the organization to identify available opportunities and needs for volunteers.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong discipleship skills with ability to motivate and encourage others.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years in a relevant field.

  • Associate’s Degree in related field.
