Friends of Maury County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a family-friendly Step-by-Step Painting Class of a Poinsettia for ages 12 and older on November 5, 2013, from 6pm to 9pm at the Nell H. Wright Building located off Lion Parkway in Maury County Park in Columbia, TN. The fee of $35 includes the 3-hour class, paint, canvas, brushes, and instruction by local artist Susan E Jones. You may bring snacks to share, beverages and friends, but no alcohol is permitted in the park. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or grandparent.
“Although we are all painting from the same reference painting,” says Susan Jones, class instructor, “Every Poinsettia painting created in the class will be beautiful and different. Our creative spirits are as unique as our thumb prints. And I look forward to helping my students discover and cultivate their own personal styles and to create their own masterpiece that is sure to be cherished as a family heirloom for generations.”
Everyone will go home with their own 16 x 20 inch painting on a stretched canvas or have the option of painting two 9 x 12 paintings on canvas panels. No prior experience is necessary, just a desire to find your creative spirit and to have a good time.
For more information or to make your reservation, contact Susan Jones at 615-216-5907. Due to limited seating, payment for the class is required at registration.
